This history begins with James Murphree, a Revolutionary War Soldier in NC, and his wife, Sarah Strother Murphree.  They were the parents of James Strother Murphree, who moved to Commerce, TN and thence to Troy, Pike County, Alabama in 1844.  Published October 1965.
